Prelude Welcome and Announcements
Call to Worship (based on Psalm 50)
L/ The Lord God will speak to the earth; God’s fire declares God’s justice. And God’s justice is the judgement line for all peoples.
P/ God says, “I am your God. I do not look to sacrifices or rituals like you think. What need have I for a bull to eat. If I were hungry, I would not tell you because all the earth is mine. I do not eat blood or need your prayers to sustain me. I sustain you!
L/ I have set my covenant. I have laid it out plainly. My people, uphold justice. My people, help the poor. My people, feed the hungry. My people, stand against oppression, stand against hatred, stand against division. When you fail to bring justice, you actually hate my ways. When you focus on your own comforts, you throw your lot in with the greedy, the plunderers of my people. When you despise helping the poor and the outcast, you throw in your lot with adulterers and use your mouth for evil.
P/ Consider this, you think because I do not immediately rebuke you that I am like you. But you forget my law and do not live as my people. I do rebuke you. I will bring justice.
L/ God’s people thank God with offerings and with living in covenant. God’s people work for justice and truth. God’s people will see the salvation of God but the wicked will tear themselves to shreds. God will deliver those who live by the covenant.
Hymn of Praise: Day by Day, Day by Day, O Dear Lord three things I pray: To see thee more clearly, love thee more dearly, follow thee more nearly, day by day. (2x through)
Confession and Assurance
P/ Lord our God, you call us to work for a world where all have dignity and all will be fed, but we are distracted by our own desires. You call us to seek justice and peace, but we are satisfied with injustice and discord. You call us to insist on liberty for all people but we seem to settle for limited freedoms only for our own. Forgive us O God. Turn us to your will by the power of your Spirit so that all may know your justice and love, through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Book of Common Worship, 2018)
L/ Hear these words of scripture: “He bore our sins on the cross that we might be dead to sin and alive in doing good.” (1 Peter 2:24) I declare our sins are forgiven and we are remade by the blood of Jesus and the Life of the Spirit.

Invitation to the Table
L/ The Lord be with you P/ And also with you
L/ Lift up your hearts P/ We lift them to the Lord
L/ Let us give God thanks and praise P/ We worship God
L/ We give you thanks, O God, through your beloved Son, Jesus Christ, who you sent in these last times as Savior and Redeemer. He proclaimed Your Good News, healed the sick, gave sight to the blind, and showed the love of God. He is Your Word, one with You, through whom You made all things. You sent Him from heaven to the Virgin’s womb where He became one of us.
L/ In fulfillment of Your will Jesus stretched out his arms on the cross that those who suffer would find release and those oppressed by sin and death would find Life. Jesus has won for You, O Father, a holy people from every nation. His freely accepted death shattered the chains of the evil one and trampled underfoot the schemes and powers of hell. By His resurrection, Jesus forever fixed the boundaries of death and now leads the righteous to eternal life. Let us join with the angels and saints all the faithful from every time in singing to your glory:
P/ Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, Heaven and earth are full of your glory. (Isaiah 6: 3; Revelation 4:8) Hosanna in the highest! Blessed is the one that comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest! (Psalm 118:25; Matthew 21:9)
L/ We remember that on the night he was betrayed…
L/ Remembering therefore His death and resurrection, we set before You this bread and cup. We are thankful that You have counted us worthy to stand in Your presence and serve you as your own priestly people.
L/ We ask you now to send your Holy Spirit upon the offering Your holy church brings. Gather into one all who share these mysteries, filling them with the Holy Spirit and confirming Your Son Jesus as the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Fill us with joy that we might praise You with the Son and Spirit, one God in Three persons.
P/ Through Christ, with Christ, in Christ, by the power of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honor is Yours Almighty Father, forever and ever. Amen. (Romans 11:36)
Lord’s Prayer (using debts, debtors)

Prayer of Thanksgiving (from our Reformed Heritage)
L/ Startle our hearts O God with the truth of your resurrection and open our minds to your Holy Spirit that we may be one, grateful and loving, united in Jesus, to serve as His disciples and show His love. (UPCUSA, 1964 Presbyterian Service for the Lord’s Day)
Benediction
Closing Hymn: Make me a Blessing (#452)
1. Out in the highways and byways of life, many are weary and sad; carry the sunshine where darkness is rife, making the sorrowing glad.
Refrain: Make me a blessing, make me a blessing. Out of my life may Jesus shine; make me a blessing O Savior I pray. Make me a blessing to someone today.
2. Give as ‘twas given to you in your need, love as the Master loved you; be to the helpless a helper indeed, unto your mission be true.
