Assurance and Confession
L/ Christ Himself bore our sins on the cross so that, free from sin, we might live for righteousness. (1 Peter 2:24) Let us now silently confess our sins and our need for the Salvation won by Christ Jesus.
<silent confession>
P/ Almighty God, in raising Jesus from the grave, you shattered sin and death. We confess that we cling to our captivity in doubt and fear. We overlook the poor and hungry, we pass by those who mourn and dismiss those who are ill or mentally different. We are deaf to cries of oppression because they threaten our privledged lives. We despise the weak, abuse the earth, and only look to our own gain. Forgive us O Lord of mercy. Help us to trust your power to burst forth from the grave, change our lives, and re-create us in Jesus. Make us to know your abundant life in Him who Lives forever and ever. Alleluia!
L/ Hear these words of scripture: “Death has been swallowed up in victory. Where O death is your victory? Where O death is your sting? The sting of death is sin and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
(1 Corinthians 15: 54b-57) You and I stand forgiven, washed in the blood of the Lamb who now lives and reigns forever! Alleluia!

Affirmation of Faith (Early Creed from Scripture: 1 Corinthians 15: 1-6 and Matthew 16:16)
All/ This is the Good News which we have received, in which we stand, and by which we are saved if we hold fast: that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, that He was buried, and that He was raised up on the third day. He appeared first to the women, then to Peter and the Twelve, then to many other faithful witnesses and finally to me. So we believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Christ, the Son of the Living God.

Prayers of the People
L/ We offer our prayers through Christ, who is risen from the dead and who lives and reigns forever, interceding for us in heaven. We pray for the church everywhere. May we be a people of joy, living witnesses to the power of resurrection and the Good News of your love.
P/ Living Christ, hear our prayers
L/ We pray for the earth and all of creation. May you raise to new life all that is damaged or in risk of dying. Teach us to be stewards of your good creation, seeing and responding to your beauty, grace, and providence by our own care of creation.
P/ Living Christ, hear our prayers.
L/ We pray for the nations. Let the message of your saving power spread. Teach leaders to be stewards of your Life and Rule. See to the common good of all peoples. Take away war and violence and nationalistic greed which bring only death and bind us together as your children.
P/ Living Christ, hear our prayers
L/We pray for the community. Let us be actual church, open to all and in service to those in need. Be with those who are outcast, who are homeless, or who are lonely. Be with families and individuals, children and adults, that they may all come to know you.
P/ Living Christ, hear our prayers
L/ We pray for those who are on our minds today. We pray for healing in body, mind, or spirit. Especially we pray for…
P/ Living Christ, hear our prayers
L/ We pray in thanks for all you have given us: Life, Love, Grace, and the blessings that we receive, known and unknown. Teach us to place our hearts in you and to follow the Spirit to the Father’s glory.
